What personal information do we collect?

Visiting: You are not required to provide personally identifiable information to visit the boschtools.com site.

Customer Registration: You will be asked to provide personally identifiable information such as your name, address, email address, etc. on the Bosch customer registration form. The information which you enter in the registration form will be used by us to provide you a personalized website that remembers your information and provides convenient online order and tracking history.

Commercial & Trade Online Account Request: You will be asked to provide personally identifiable information such as your name, address, email address, etc. on the Bosch Commercial & Trade Online Account Request . The information which you enter in the form will be used by us to provide you with an advanced access to all product and repair information and other order management features .

Product Registration: You will be asked to provide personally identifiable information such as your name, address, email address, etc. The information that you enter in the product registration section is collected by one of our third party service providers, Equifax, and is forwarded to us by Equifax. Equifax has its own privacy policy regarding its collection of personally identifiable information from you. Please note that Equifax may use the information that you provide to us on the product registration form for its own purposes, which may include disclosing or selling this information to third parties. Online Parts Ordering: You may provide us with personally identifiable information such as your name and address if you use the Online Parts Ordering form on our website. The information that you enter in the online parts ordering form is used by to provide you with the possibility to order genuine Bosch and Skil parts online.

Online Repair Request: You may provide us with personally identifiable information such as your name and address if you use the Online Repair Request form. The information that you enter in the form is used by us to allow you to create a repair order online and manage the repair process from home and work.

Retailer and Service Center Locator: You may provide us with personally identifiable information such as your zip code and phone number if you use the Retailer or Service Center Locator sections of our site. The information which you enter in these sections will be managed for us by one of our third party service providers, who will provide you with retailer and service center locations which correspond to the information which you enter. Although we collect information regarding the total number of visitors to these sections, we do not currently collect, retain or use any of the information which you provide in these sections.

Request of Bosch Tools and Accessories Catalog: You may provide us with personally identifiable information such as your name and address if you fill in the catalog order form of our site. The information you enter in this form is used by us in order to send you the requested catalog.

Request of Product Literature: You may provide us with personally identifiable information such as your name and address if you fill in the Product Literature order form of our site. .The information you enter in this form is used by us in order to send you the requested Product Literature.

Request of the Bosch Tools eNewsletter: You may provide us with personally identifiable information such as your name and email address if you fill in the Bosch Toll eNewsletter order form. The information you enter in this form is used by us in order to send you the Bosch Tools eNewsletter.

Contact Us: You may provide us with personally identifiable information in order to allow us to answer a question that you ask us through the "Contact Us" section of our site. The information you provide us is transmitted to one of our service providers, who will contact you directly with a response to your question. Your information may be retained to further improve the products and services we offer you.

Searches: Although we do not currently do so, we may in the future collect and retain information that is entered into the search engines offered on our site. We will notify you when we collect this information from search engines in the Notification of Changes section of this Privacy Policy (see below).

IP Addresses:  By using the Site, you are making available the Internet Protocol address (“IP Address”) used by your computer during the time you are accessing the Site. IP addresses are assigned by Internet numbering authorities to service providers (e.g., ISPs) for the purpose of routing data over networks. Your IP address may be statically (permanently) assigned for use by your computer or the local or wide area network used by your computer, or it may be dynamically assigned (temporarily, for the current online session only). Cookies and Other Tracking Devices: We may use cookies and other tracking devices on this Site. Using cookies provides benefits to you, such as allowing you to maintain your account login information between visits. The use of cookies also allows us to measure site activity to provide a better user experience. Cookies and other tracking devices may be used to tell us the time and length of your visit, the pages you look on the Site, the site you visited just before coming to ours, and the name of your Internet service provider.

We may use third parties to serve Bosch advertisements on other websites. We do not sell your personally identifiable information to any third parties.  However, we may share your personally identifiable information with third parties in order to allow them to perform analytical and other services for us.  For example, we will share your personally identifiable information with our third party service providers to help us manage your information and perform services for you.  In some cases, we may also work with third parties that do analysis and development on our behalf. Please note that some of the third parties might use you personally identifiable information for their own purposes. In these cases, only their privacy policies are applicable.

How do we handle changes to your information or to this policy?

Notification of Changes: Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be posted on our web site at this location.

Deleting Information Collected by Bosch: If you wish to delete your personal information from our databases, you may email us at  Boschservice@us.bosch.com and request that your information be deleted.  It may take us approximately 10 days to process and activate your request.

Security

While we use security measures in order to protect the data we have under our control against manipulation, loss, destruction, access by unauthorized persons or against unauthorized disclosure, and while our security procedures are continually enhanced as new technology becomes available, we cannot guarantee that personally identifiable information which you submit on the site will be secure.

Children's Guidelines

We do not knowingly collect or use any personally identifiable information from online visitors under 13 years of age.  We do not knowingly allow visitors under the age of 13 to participate in any of promotions or contests we make available from time to time.
